Laurin & Katie’s Cypress Grove Estate House Wedding | Amalie Orrange Photography
As we arrived to The Cypress Grove Estate House, Laurin & Katie’s family and friends were setting up the final details, laughing and lighthearted as they did it. Laurin, a DJ was taking the sound into his own hands, serious yet lighthearted. Katie, up stairs hanging out with her friends, was calm and relaxed, taking in the memories that the day would provide. You could tell even before the festivities started that these two would make this a great day.
Then there are the twists and turns and unexpected things that are bound to happen with any wedding day. And seeing how couples react to this really tells me a lot about the character and love between couples. Laurin and Katie met anything that happened with amazing resiliency and determination not to let it affect their big day. I have endless admiration for these two, they met us with kind, warm and welcoming hearts, invited us in and let us be creative. I think these pictures are only the tip of the insight of the love that these two share and we are eternally grateful that these two let us be a part of their big day.
Heres to Laurin and Katie, may your love forever spin like the turntables of DJ Sleazy McQueen.

What do you get when you mix a dog, a chilly day, a dock and two people totally in love? Awesome pictures that portray an awesome couple. It was windy and it was cold but you could never tell by the non-stop smiles from Jennifer or the kindness. I knew I loved Jennifer the second I met her at Starbucks, she was so sweet and was so excited to tell me about her upcoming wedding at Casa Feliz. And, if Jennifer looks familiar she was actually my model for the recent shoot I did at Cypress Grove. These two toughed it out for the session and we are pleased as punch they did. A super cute couple with their sweet pup Chloe made for some gorgeous shots, we are smiling ear to ear over here. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Abby & Nick’s Winter Park Wedding
Meet Abby & Nick, who met inTallahassee, FL while they were both second year law students. Nick, a die-hard gator fan and UF alum, transferred to FSU law after a year at Ole Miss. His best friend and fraternity brother was in one of Abby’s law school classes and told Abby she needed to meet his friend who was transferring. Jokingly, she said, if he’s an obnoxious Gator like you, this Seminole fan is not interested. Little did she know, their mutual friend talked her up to Nick. And, that entire summer they all hung out as friends. Their first date was October 24, 2008. I guess you can say, the rest is history.
How Nick proposed: Nick and Abby both live in Jacksonville, FL. After a year or so of renting a house with a group of guys, Nick was bit by the “house buying” bug. Abby would walk through houses with him and comment on design ideas, etc. At this point, Abby and Nick both knew that any house would one day become their home together. Fast forward to actually buying a cute, 1960’s red brick house in Jacksonville. After getting keys to the house, but before moving anything in, amidst drop cloths and paint cans in an empty living room, Nick got down on one knee, said that he wanted to start their life together there in that house. How stinkin sweet is that!
Jeff & I had such a great time with Abby & Nick and we wish them many years of happiness.
